In college, I loved literature and writing. I started off as an English major, but the fear of not finding work after college, and not really having an idea of what I wanted to do, got the best of me. I changed my major to business administration, and my first passion was pushed to the side.
Fast forward, and I had given birth to my first son. Plans to have a natural birth at a birth center didn't happen. I was transferred to a local hospital, and my 36-hour labor ended with a very unplanned cesarean birth. I was depressed and obsessed over what happened. Was I broken? I started reading about c-section rates and birth trauma. About women being denied the right to make informed decisions during one of the most vulnerable moments in their lives. I wanted to be a birth worker. I wanted to help women. But with a very busy entrepreneur husband and two small children, the life equation just wasn’t adding up. My passion once again gave way to other life things.
So life went on. My passion became my kids as a stay-at-home mom, and I found so much joy in that. But I still had these interests and ideas, maybe you’d call them obsessions, just waiting in the wings.
I started to realize that my passions and end-goals can be conflicting and tiring, but I can choose to live with that tension. The tension between being a good mom, having a fulfilling career, and taking care of myself. There’s no morally wrong answer. After all, I have things I want to do in my life. And that’s when I found a new passion.
I discovered that movement and exercise were so tightly tied to my mental health. I started to see what it felt like to have energy to run and chase my kids at the park. I saw a new person in the mirror. A person with confidence and self-love. A person who felt good in her own skin. I could actually feel and see my health. I felt well.
Exercise and proper nutrition has changed my life so much that I wanted to share it with others. Being a coach allows me to fulfill all of my current and past passions that I thought I had to give up. It allows me to connect with people, to write stories that inspire, to help others, empower women, and teach what I love.
So I'm here, and I'm ready to help you achieve your goals.
And my promise is to always invest in continuing education to help people in the best way possible. I’ll never be the smartest person in the room, I’ll always have things to learn from you and others, and I’ll always help you find answers. I'll be unbiased in my advice and always be compassionate. Because we all need help. And I want to help you in your journey to be stronger, healthier, and more confident.
